yesterday at my audition at the melbourne theatre company, i met HUNG LEE! OH WOW! He used to be one of my role models way back in 2002 because there weren't many famous asian actors back in the day, so Hung Lee was definitely one of my inspirations. Seeing him audition for the same part as I was made me feel like I'm on his level now, although he is definitely a lot more experienced than I am. I hope he gets the role!

i feel very fortunate that i got asked to do a role, instead of the standard auditioning. I guess being of chinese decent, i tend to get roles by default, but hey...i'm definitely not complaining. About 50% of the roles I get on student films are by invitation. I definitely feel like a hotshot hollywood actor. I should probably cash in on this niche market and try to learn to speak Chinese and Cantonese as well as learn chinese accents and perhaps maybe martial arts? well i used to learn tai-chi and wushu so maybe i should continue with it...
I had a last minute audition on monday morning, and then found out I got the part on Monday night. Shoot tues-thurs. everything happened so quickly. next week I have 2 auditions i think and that might be the end of it? films are drying up now since its getting near the end of semester 2. I will have to find something else to do with my time, but I might just add that this has been an amazing year of acting. I have done so much that I would never have thought I would do. My acting is improving heaps!
Last night I had a comedy audition in south melbourne. I was surprized that I was auditioning along side 6 other white western males. I had no idea I would be short listed. I think it's great that we are finally embracing multi-culturalism. Such a shame I was the only ethnic person there.
This morning I was in a horror film shot way up in Glenroy and I had to be there by 8.30am. It wasn't too bad but I was quite surprized by how packed the first train (Sunday 7:30am) to the city was. The shot went pretty well although I did get some fake blood in my nose which eventually went down my throat. A bit of blood got into my eye and stained my contact lens! I would like to say thanks to the lady who helped clean me up afterwards. There was fake blood all over my neck, down my back and in my ear... After that, I was at Classic Cinema Elsternwick for a movie premiere that I was in last year. It looked pretty good and it looks good having my name in the credits! hopefully more to come! oh and I'll just quickly add that some of the crew in the film this morning were also crewing in the movie as well. wow! it's such a tight wow this week I have been filming until 3am, and then either took the taxi home or waited until 5am to take the train home. it's probably not so good for my health to stay up all night knowing that I have to be energised for the next day's shoot. As a result, i have caught a cold of some sort and now have to deal with it. On Friday i have a meeting with a film company to discuss a role, and on saturday I have another audition. I hope I can pull through. The week after, I have a Melbourne Theatre Audition (wow sounds professional), plus another student film audition. I am struggling to keep up with the scripts and my printer is low on ink. ok i better go back to sleep. I am so sick!
Today I went to an audition and after I did it, the director pretty much offered me the role on the spot. This doesn't usually happen but I think it's quite good because you can get INSTANT feedback. No need to wait around to see if you got the role, or trying to figure out obscure emails because you can't remember which role you auditioned for because you did too many. This week I've had 3 auditions and 2 days of filming, all while trying to work at my retail job as well as teaching. It was a difficult week and I'm still quite sick. oh, and I also got a call from someone else saying that I didn't get a role and that was good too becuase it's good to k
Wow this week is going crazy! I went to Footscray in the morning for filming but realised that my agent told me the wrong time, so i went back home to do a few things and went out again at night. It was a great shoot and the set looked very authentic. I can't wait until they release this on the ABC. Today I am back to the ABC for more filming and am currently trying to work out how to get there via public transport. I had to skip dance class today because I was feeling too much pressure. I am also very happy because someone contacted me via this website even though it has only been up for a week to do another role. I also made friends with some extras on set last night and they were really nice. It made me feel good seeing other Chinese actors because I am used to being around Australians, so it felt like I was really in China even though I've never been there before.
Wow today has been another busy day. I had to work, and then straight after, I went to Swinburne for an audition. It went really well and I liked the people. It was a rather challanging audition because there was not a lot of dialogue, so I had to use my imagination. I also got called today to shoot a RMIT Commercial for equal rights for Thursday so I hope I can fit that in because tomorrow and the day after I will be working on ABC for their production. I also spoke to my agent for the first time since Christmas 2010! I had to keep the chat short because I was on lunch break at work but atleast I feel like I belong somewhere. OK time to sleep now. tomorrow I have to be in Footscray by 8.45am which means peak hour train all the way! good night!
Hi and welcome to my website. This is quite exciting because I built this myself! woohoo!
I have been busy this week with my website, but here's what I'm up to:
